Working out is a great way to kickstart your metabolism, but just because you go to the gym does not mean that you can go home and eat a bunch of junk. Nutrition is an important factor when it comes to reaching your goals. I totally get it, no one wants to count calories and eat boring bland food. Maybe now it is time to switch our mindset about nutrtion and how it can help fuel our body so that we can workout harder and recover faster, which in turn will help us get results that much quicker. Think of your body like a steam engine. Once you start the fire, you need to add more coal to make it go faster. Your body acts in a similar way. When you workout, your body starts to burn calories, meaning that it will need more calories to continue to burn. I am not saying that you need to stuff your face with calorie packed meals, but a common misconception that we deal with at the gym often is that the less you eat, the faster you will burn fat and lose weight. You need to eat enough to fuel your body to burn the fat. The higher the quality the food and the more nutrient dense the food, the better it will make you feel. Let's change our mindset about nutriton and make food work for us, not us against food.
